Design that answers
to the evidence.

Interface design, design systems, and interaction patterns that respect user context and constraints.

Design is where research becomes a decision. Every interface choice either respects what the fieldwork found or quietly overrides it, and the second is easier to do by accident than most teams expect.

What we do

Interface and interaction design

The screens, states, and flows — designed against the constraints the research established rather than against a reference app that was built for a different context. Offline states, error recovery, and the unglamorous paths matter more in operational software than the happy path everyone reviews.

Design systems

Tokens, components, and the written rules for when each is appropriate. The rules are the part that determines whether the system survives contact with a growing team; without them you have a component library that fragments within two releases.

Accessibility by default

We design to WCAG 2.2 AA and annotate handovers with the semantics, focus order, and announcements engineers need to implement it correctly. For EU-facing products this is a compliance requirement under the European Accessibility Act, not an enhancement.

Prototyping and validation

We prototype at whatever fidelity answers the open question, then test it — usually with the same participant pool from the research phase, which makes the comparison meaningful.

How design connects to the rest

Design sits between research and engineering, and the handover in both directions is where projects usually lose fidelity. We prefer to stay involved through build rather than deliver a file and leave — most of the consequential decisions are made during implementation, not before it.

Common questions

Do you design without doing research first?

Occasionally, when credible research already exists or the problem is genuinely well understood. More often we find the assumptions have never been tested, and we will say so before taking the work.

Do you build design systems?

Yes — tokens, components, and the usage rules that keep a system from drifting six months after handover. A design system without written rules for when to use what is a component library, and it decays.

Is accessibility included or extra?

Included. We design to WCAG 2.2 AA as a default and annotate the handover with the semantics engineers need. Retrofitting accessibility costs several times what building it in does.
