Most engagements start with research and continue into design and engineering, because the findings are only worth as much as what gets built on them. But each of the four can be bought on its own, and roughly a third of our work is research that another team implements.

Common questions
Can we hire you for research only?
Yes. A research engagement that ends in a findings report and a prioritised set of recommendations is our most common first project. Many clients take those findings to their own design and engineering teams.
Do you take on design work without research?
Sometimes, when a client already has credible research or the problem is genuinely well understood. We will say so if we think you are designing on assumptions — that conversation is part of the work.
